Community-powered platform concept & prototype for reporting road conditions across Nigeria with a proposed AI scoring engine. Led a 5-person team for the OPay Scholars Innovation Challenge.
Nigeria's roads are unpredictable — potholes, flooding, construction, and accident-prone stretches often go unreported until someone's already stuck in them. Drivers and commuters have no shared, real-time way to know what's ahead, so the same hazards catch people off guard again and again. RoadWatch Nigeria was conceived to close that gap: a community-powered way to surface road conditions before they become someone else's problem.
The idea was a platform where users could report road conditions as they encountered them and search conditions before setting out on a route, with real-time updates pulled from community contributions. Behind the reporting layer sat a proposed AI engine — one that would aggregate incoming reports, analyze patterns, and assign each road a health score, giving users a quick read on what to expect rather than a wall of unfiltered reports. It combined AI, automation, and a genuine Nigerian infrastructure problem into a single social-impact concept.
I led a five-person team through the OPay Scholars Innovation Challenge, taking this from a rough idea to a concept note and Canva-built prototype, and put together a short video/voiceover walking through how it would work. This was built as a prototype and concept submission rather than a live, shipped product — the goal was to prove the idea was sound and worth building, not to ship a finished app.
